Anyone remember visiting their local "ComputerTown Meetings" ?

I ran as a volunteer, the "ComputerTown North East!" (CTNE!) in Newcastle upon Tyne (North East England). And I am now trying to start to write up a history of this volunteer movement, which was the first wave of "hobby computer users" trying to spread the I.T. word out to the public.

ComputerTownUSA! and ComputerTownUK! was first brought to the UK personal computer magazine readship, by the then owner of PCW magazinbe, David Tubbut.

I would love to hear from anyone who took part in these early days, of computer literacy, long before the "computers for the terrified" courses were started.

Cheers
