NTS Computer Systems Ltd offered its line of low-cost computing DreamWriter devices. Two versions were available: the DreamWriter 100 and the DreamWriter 200 which offered a floppy drive for storage and sharing files with a desktop computer. These were aimed at the education market.

The DreamWriter 200 portable computer cost £311.75 (including printer cable and adapter). It has a calculator, address book, scheduler, file transfer, calendar, world-time clock, and modem which can be connected to receive and send e-mail. It can be fitted to most printers, or data can be transferred directly to PCs, Acorn and Apple Macintosh computers using either floppy discs or optional software via a cable connection. It was launched in 1996.

This is a similar looking machine to the Amstrad NC200 from 1993 but shares no development with it, and also has a different processor, it appears to only use the shell of the case and probably the screen, the Amstrad machine also cannot use HD floppy disks without an upgrade.

The NTS machine was also marketed by Tandy as the DreamWriter 200.
