The P1000G is a 100MHz Pentium PCI local bus laptop manufactured by Tadpole Technology.

The Tadpole P1000 was the first 100-MHz Pentium-based notebook, from Tadpole Technology. Released in 1995, it was Tadpole's first PC platform. The laptop is housed in an advanced magnesium alloy case, providing a rugged and strong machine.

The Tadpole P1000 features an industry-standard PCI bus, 256K secondary write back cache, and 64-bit memory interface. It comes with a 10.4-inch active matrix colour TFT display at 640 x 480 VGA resolution. The system includes two PCMCIA Type I/II or one Type III slot, and weighs just 7.5 pounds with the internal NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery installed. The P1000G came with an active-matrix, thin-film transistor display supporting 800 x 600 graphics.

It was bundled with Microsoft's Windows for Workgroups 3.11 and DOS 6.22, and was shipped with a 3.5-inch floppy disk drive, internal NiMH battery and leather carrying case. In addition, the Tadpole P1000 was Windows 95-ready and Plug & Play compatible.

List prices for the P1000 configured with 8MB DRAM, a 340MB hard drive, Windows for Workgroups 3.11 and DOS 6.22, Phoenix BIOS with Plug & Play, an external floppy drive, internal NiMH battery and leather carrying case start at $6,495.

Despite the P1000 being one of the most powerful laptops at the time of its release, Tadpole's lack of marketing strategy meant that the laptop was never very successful. Within two years Tadpole had stopped marketing the laptop completely and were looking for an OEM deal for the laptops.
