The RM Nimbus PC-186 was a later version of the RM Nimbus PC. It was identical except for the case being the same dimensions as the new M series PC-286 and PC-386 as well as the keyboard now being a industry standard PS/2 port instead of the inverted TTL port used in earlier Nimbus PCs.
This machine is fitted with a combined FDD and HDD controller as well as an inbuilt ZNET card. this allows it to either run as a workstation on our RM NET Network, or to boot as a standalone machine of either FDD of HDD. All Nimbus PC and PC-186 machines with FDD only supported 720 Kbyte disks. It is fitted with 1.5 Mbytes of RAM which is the maximum a PC-186 can support, however only 1Mbyte can be access by the user due to number of physical address lines the 80186 processor has. The remaining 512K can be used as a silicon disk only.
