FlashCalc was a Spreadsheet program introduced by VisiCorp in 1981 at a time when they were in litigation with Software Arts which designed VisiCalc, the 'killer app' which was part of the Apple II's success. At the same time VisCorp reduced the prices of the Visi range of products including VisiCalc, VisiSchedule, VisiFile, VisiWord Plus, VisiTrendPlot and VisiLink. VisiCalc was reduced to $99 from $250. FlashCalc was positioned as the lead product in a product line for high-end home and casual business users. $99 FlashCalc was said to to be faster because of an increased memory capability of 512K. It was designed for the Apple IIc but worked on the full range of Apple IIs and was file compatible with VisiCalc.
