Frontier Developments release Elite Dangerous

16th December 2014 Elite Dangerous is the fourth game in the long-running Elite series of space flight simulation games. After difficulty finding a suitable publishing deal, Frontier Developments launced a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to fund development of the game. The campaign was successful, raising 1.7 million pounds. A two year development period ended with the game's release on 16th December 2014, at an event at The Imperial War Museum, Duxford. Initially released for Windows, Elite Dangerous was eventually made available on other platforms including macOS, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Related information:
