This unit was created to wipe the eprom cards that the Z88 used. EPROM cards were an addition to the internal memory of the machine, which could hold the entire works of Shakespeare, but would soon need more. Unfortunately the cards were one way data, meaning that once the information was on the card, it could not be erased.

The only way round this was to use the eprom eraser, which would wipe all data from the machine. Using other hardware, the data could be backed up to PC before erasing.
