On first Appearance the PC Club is a Micro, when it is actually an IBM PC Compatible. The market in Japan was dominated by the PC-9800, or the PC-98, this machine was one of Epsom's clone challengers to this dominance. The downside to the PC-98 machines, was that they were very expensive, and too much for many users wanting to upgrade from the 8 bit micros. This Epson was priced at four times less than the NEC machines at 100,000 Yen. The machine did stray away from the NEC version of MS DOS, and used Epson's own, it has an 80286 processor, 2MB of VRAM, 640x400 display, 16 colour, an FM sound source, 2 3.5 FDD Drives, a mouse port, a parallel port, an RS232C serial port, serial printer port, and can also output RGB. The casing is not unlike a Tandy 1000, the computer has a full Japanese keyboard, and a useful reset button.
