This is a major revision of, and obsoletes, SC23-0048-4. See the Summary of
Amendments following the Contents for a summary of the changes made to this manual.
Technical changes or additions to the text and illustrations are indicated by a vertical line
to the left of the change.
This edition appUes to Version 1 Release 3.6 and to all subsequent releases of
MVS/System Product - JES2 5740-XYS until otherwise indicated in new editions or
technical newsletters. The fourth edition (SC23-0048-3) still applies to Version 1 Release
3.4 of MVS/System Product - JES2 S740-XYS and may now be ordered using the
temporary order number STOO-1638. Changes are made periodically to the information
herein; before using this publication in connection with the operation of IBM systems,
consult the System!370 Bibliography. GC20-0001, for the editions that are applicable and
current.

This book provides a system console operator with the information required to
control JES2 on a System/370 running under MVS. This publication should be
used with Operator's Library: 0SIVS2 MVS System Commands' which provides
the basic MVS system information used in conjunction with JES2.
