This publication is primarily for readers who are responsible for the installation of
the OS PL/I Optimizing Compiler, OS PL/I Resident Library, and OS PL/I
Transient Library. The book describes how to install these three products under
the Conversational Monitor System (CMS) of the IBM Virtual Machine/System
Product (VM/SP). To install this product under the IBM Multiple Virtual Systems
(MVS) or Multiple Virtual Systems/Extended Architecture (MVS/XA) Operating
System, see OS PL/1 Optimizing Compiler: Installation Guide for MVS,
SC26-4121.
You should already be familiar with the VM system used at your installation, with
the publications that describe that system, and with EXEC processing.
