The Tandata TM100 was a Prestel Viewdata system and was used for many applications including Homelink banking. The modem was used with a computer, such as the BBC Micro, and was connected to the telephone system and television set.

Homelink was the UK's first online banking system which allowed customers to transfer money between accounts, pay bills and arrange loans. The Homelink system was created in conjunction with the Nottingham Building Society, the Bank of Scotland and Prestel in 1983. New homes got a built-in computer terminal enabling banking transactions to be carried out from home.
