The Beta Disk Interface was manufactured by the UK company Technology Research Limited in 1984. Originally retailing at £109.25 (excluding disk drives) it allowed a Spectrum to interface to Shugart-compatible single- or double-density 3.5" or 5.25" floppy disk drives. The expansion connector is carried through to the rear of the unit, allowing additional expansion modules to be connected. The included EPROM contains the TR-DOS operating system. Up to four disk drives can be run from the interface.
