Ultimate Play The Game's in house programmers were very much Z80 machine orientated, so when it came to converting their games to 6502 machines, the work was outsourced.
It fell to Softstone to convert this side on platfrom game to the C64, it came out nearly a year after the Spectrum version, and was not highly rated by the magazines of the day.
In retrospect, they may have been a tad harsh on it, yes the sound is well below what the machine was capable of, and the colours dull, but it did not have the originals colour clash, and was very smooth and fast to play.
Very unusually for an Ultimate title, the game is credited to an individual, Greg Harrison
