The Final Inspection Testing System (FIT) was designed to test the BBC Micro after it had been fully assembled, and just before it was packed and dispatched, whether by a manufacturer or a dealer who had serviced it. The use of the FIT enabled both manufacturers and dealers to be confident that the computer they were about to dispatch was fully operational.
