The HP OmniGo 100 (F1310A) was designed as a more sophisticated successor to the LX series of PDAs, and incorporated the HP-12C calculator functionality.

It featured a 360° rotating screen, allowing you to use it in palmtop or a notebook form. It was Graphic User Interface (GUI) based, controlled by pen input or keyboard. However, it lacked the versatility of running unmodified DOS programs. The normal operation mode was with DOS-basedPEN/GEOS and Graffiti handwriting recognition. It was not widely accepted as a calculator replacement, and Palm and Pocket PCs became acceptable as PDAs. It was based on the Vadem VG230, a highly integrated system controller with 16 MHz NEC V30HL CPU, instruction set compatible with the Intel 80186.

The OmniGo 100 included a lot of built-in software including: Appointment Book, Notepad, Phonebook, Database, Book Reader, Financial Tools and Spreadsheet. It came standard with 1MB RAM, a serial interface and a PCMCIA (Type II) slot. It ran on 2 AA batteries, and gained a reputation for its short battery life.
