Things are tough right now ...

They're tough for everyone :( But when coronavirus hit here in the UK, the museum had to close its doors to the public, and we lost practically all our income overnight.

Please Donate Via Just GivingNo visitors, no workshops, no events, no school visits... no income. We know that things are tough for everyone right now, but if you can afford to help us through these tough times please donate what you can.

Digital Micro PDP-11/53

The PDP-11 was Digital's successor to the hugely successful PDP-8. The PDP-11 was a 16-bit machine and was launched in 1970. This model, the PDP-11/53, was launched in 1987. The PDP-11 series was still in production right up until 1990, the last versions being the MicroPDP-11/94 and the -11/93.

This example has twin floppy disk drives and a RD54 hard disk. It is in excellent condition (possibly unused) but unfortunately will not boot beyond the firmware level, probably because of a hard drive fault.

Manufacturer: DEC
Date: 1987
