|Home > Browse Our Collection > Software > Apple II Software > Microsoft TASC The Applesoft Compiler|
TASC is a compiler for Applesoft BASIC, rather than the usual interpreter, that can make programs written in Applesoft BASIC run faster. As TASC is compatible with Applesoft, you can perfect your programs interactively with the interpreter, then compile to produce machine code with 2-20 times faster execution than Applesoft.
Features: Disk based for large programs; minimal code expansion - typically 25%; two-pass compilation for efficient memory usage; relocatable runtime library; user specified memory allocation; language extensions.
Supports but does not require the Microsoft RAMCard or Apple Language System
Platform: Apple II Plus, II with Applesoft firmware card, minimum 48Kb RAM Disk 5.25
