Things are tough right now ...

They're tough for everyone :( But when coronavirus hit here in the UK, the museum had to close its doors to the public, and we lost practically all our income overnight.

Please Donate Via Just GivingNo visitors, no workshops, no events, no school visits... no income. We know that things are tough for everyone right now, but if you can afford to help us through these tough times please donate what you can.

Description :

Saturday 13th August 2016 (7pm till Midnight)

After the success of our first ever Music For Geeks night we've decided to make it a regular thing! Our second outting promises to be another great evening of live electronic and geek related music inspired by both old and new technologies. We've already confirmed the awesome kelvox1 and we'll be adding more to the lineup shortly.

There will also be plenty of opportunity for some retro gaming between acts and feel free to bring along your own drinks and nibbles.

Kelvox1 are a three-piece experimental pop group. "Shady students of practical electronics at the Cambridge university of life" - The Wire

With a career in 8bit music lasting more than 15 years and over two hundred gigs in at least twenty countries, few musicians in the 8bit scene can claim to be more seasoned than gwEm. His travels have taken him as far east as Japan, as far north as Norway, as far south as India, as far west as the United States and he has no plans of hanging up his trademark Flying V guitar anytime soon.

".mpegasus is rather partial to beeps. His sound is drawn from the 8-bit era of home computers like the Spectrum and C64, mixed with heavy bass and crunchy drums to leave each track existing in a temporal limbo between the past and the future. It sounds weird, is what I’m getting at. Melody reigns supreme here, but more than ever you might find the ground a bit wobbly underfoot."

“moodscaper bypasses pedals, amps, and even laptops, pushing the modern guitar envelope into a world of pure iPad apps. His gorgeous soundscapes are all guitar generated initially, but are morphed by the latest iOS technology into luscious orchestral sounding opuses.” - Guitar Moderne

Spaces for this exciting gaming night are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place, although if you're lucky you *may* get in on the night. (tickets on the door will be £2 extra)
Due to the fact that this is BYOB and the adult nature of some games this is an over 18s event.
