Description : What does 01001000 01100101 01101100 01101100 01101111 mean? In ‘computer-speak’ or binary (as we humans like to call it!), it means ‘Hello’. All the information that is stored on computers is in binary. So, if you understand binary, you understand how a computer works. In this workshop, we will show you how binary numbers work. You can then use this concept to create a character on a 30-year old BBC Micro by turning binary digits on and off. This workshop is aimed at children aged 10 and above and is ideal for children at the KS3 level. Please note that all under 14's must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The fee is £10 for workshop participants. Accompanying adults are charged our standard entry fee of £8. Although the booking is for a specific time slot, entry to the Centre is permitted all day. The Centre is open from 10am. Tea, coffee and snacks will be available from our Pac Lunch Shop. And, plenty of seating for parents :) Date: 15th February 2018
