A promotional document published by the Department of Industry in 1979 to spread knowledge about microelectronics.  The rise of the integrated circuit, commonly known as the silicon 'chip', revolutionised electronics and computing by dramatically reducing the size, cost and power consumption of electronics.  This document shows how the UK government approached this new technology.

This document deals specifically with the range of different microchips available to businesses, from custom chips to off-the-shelf components.
