Word:mac 2001 & Entourage:mac 2001 Special Edition was available for a limited time, built for the Home User and included Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0.
Microsoft Word 2001, a word processor, was released in 2000. It included the Office Clipboard, which allowed users to copy and paste multiple items. It was the last version to run on classic Mac OS and, on Mac OS X, it could only run within the Classic Environment. Word X, released in 2001, was the first version to run natively on, and required, Mac OS X, and introduced non-contiguous text selection.
Microsoft Entourage 2001 an email application, but also comprising personal information management functionality of a calendar, address book, task list, note list, and project manager. The Word Editor in Entourage used editing tools similar to Microsoft Word, including AutoCorrect, AutoFormat and AutoBullet, making it easier to use.
