Meet Elliott - Our Oldest Working Computer - Friday 9th August 2019

Description :

How do you program a computer using a strip of paper? Come and find out at this demonstration of our oldest working computer.

The Elliott 903 is the size of an average desk and it's a noisy beast. It's also the oldest functioning computer in our collection - dating from 1965, a time when computers were bought only for companies, factories and laboratories, not for individuals, and when they were operated only by qualified engineers.

The Elliott will be demonstrated at 2pm. This talk will be open to all general visitors and will last approximately 30 minutes.

No need to book, just come along... (Normal admission charges apply)
