The Pineapple PAL Video Coder is a small add-on box which plugs in between the computer RGB output and the monitor. As well as providing buffered outputs of RGB for the monitor, it gives a full PAL coded video signal which can be used to feed either another monitor with a composite input or a video tape recorder. The box has a switch to enable the coded output to be generated in either a 624 or 625 line compatible mode, thus allowing for interlace to be switched on or off on the computer screen. The PAL Video Coder uses a Philips SAA1043P chip.
