10th August 2019
Today we gathered together LEO enthusiasts at CCH for a day of talks on Lyons & Co and their LEO computer. We had tea (in proper china cups, of course!), much cake (including Swiss Rolls, of course!) and we even got the bunting out.
Neville Lyons, descendant of Joe Lyons, gave a very interesting and informative presentation called Food for Thought on the history of Lyons, which was followed by a detailed presentation by Chris Monk on developing our LEO I using virtual reality technologies.
We also took the opportunity to launch our new LEO display. The display is featured in our main gallery and presents both documents, photographs and objects from the new LEO archive as well as a good dose of Lyons memorabilia, including some original Lyons No. 1 tea (which still has tea in it!) and a chocolate tin commemorating the coronation of HRH Queen Elizabeth II from 1952.
