Apple releases the Apple II+

June 1979 Released in June 1979 and retailing for $1,195, the Apple II+ was an enhanced version of the Apple II. The main improvements included:
A few months later, a modified version of the Apple II+ was created for the European market, branded as the Apple II Europlus. The video interface was modified to support the European PAL standard, and escape sequences were added to let users type European characters. Bell & Howell sold a repackaged version of the Apple II+ to educational markets. The original beige case and brown keyboard were replaced with black versions, and extra safety features were added (for example, preventing the case being opened while the power was on).
