Richard Braithwaite coined the phrase ‘computer’.

1613 - The first known use of the word 'computer' is in a book called The Yong Mans Gleanings by Richard Braithwaite. He said, in 1613, that he had read of "the truest computer", who was the "best arithmetician that ever breathed". So back then, computers were people who carried out calculations.
