61853 View across the LEO I racks towards the power supply units (1950)

Description of Photograph

Digital copy of a photograph across the LEO I 'calculator room' at Cadby Hall, early in the installation phase.

Caption:  'Computer & Co-Ordinator Racks'

This image appears in the interactive plan for our Virtual LEO I installation, p63.

Research comments: This photograph shows some of LEO I's racks; the racks contained the almost 6,000 valves the machine was eventually made up of. At this point in time, quite early in the machine's construction, some racks are still unoccupied. In the background, LEO's power supply is being developed. (LM)
