Digital copy of a photograph of the central control units on LEO I.

Caption: 'Another view of the "co-ordinator" - Central control units.  [ms] 28.1.53'

This image appears in the interactive plan for our Virtual LEO I installation, p45.

 

Research comments: In this photograph the individual units that make up the racks can be clearly seen. The 'handles' that can be seen along the sides allow the units to be slotted in and out; to minimise downtime and improve reliability units could be switched with a spare. Interestingly, it looks as if the units are labelled with tags. On the 'bench' in front of the rack is an oscilloscope, used for testing and finding faults with the electrical circuits. (LM)
