John Pinkerton's notes on his visit to the National Physical Laboratory at Teddington with David Caminer and Ernest Kaye, specifically to look at Hollerith tabulators, dated 31st Aug 1951.

Research comments: This set of notes are related to Lyons' decision to prepare for the STC conversion/reconversion equipment never working reliably. The visit to see Hollerith machines at NPL is part of their investigation into possible alternatives and how they might be made to work with LEO I.

Refers to the Pilot ACE machine at the National Physical Laboratory, including reference to NPL's intention to use punched card equipment for output.

Also refers to John Wormesley, formerly of NPL, who now does experimental work for British Tabulating Machines at Letchworth.(LM)
