Research comments: An interesting document in terms of the series of mergers that took place in the British computing industry in the mid-late 1960s. It is also interesting to note the sheer range of industries in which computing now has a role: military applications had always made use of developments in computing but now computers play a key part in air traffic control, the production of power (nuclear and more conventional sources), road traffic management, railways, ship automation, communications and more.
