The super A' Can is a console released only in Taiwan by the Funtech/DunHuang Technology company, it is based around the 68000 processor, used in the Sega Mega Drive and Neo Geo among others.

Costing far more than the competition of the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn, the console did not stand a chance in the market place, especially as the machine had no real custom hardware, and was not capable of 3D graphics.

After only a year on sale Funtech scrapped the project and all known development and production equipment after reportedly losing $6 million on the system. Just 12 games were released for the system, with another 11 known to be in development, but not seeing release.

The system is now largely forgotten and rare, software was never produced in large numbers and is also hard to find and usually very expensive.

Date: 25th October 1995
