The first Victor computers were essentially rebranded Yamaha MSX machines.

The HC-30 is the same as the Yamaha SX-100. It has a single cartridge slot on the right side. The power supply is external, when most MSX computers have them built in. The PSU is also Victor branded.

The computer was for the Japanese market, and has a keyboard for the region, it was available in red and black.

The MSX standard did not go nearly as worldwide as intended, having only a small impact in the UK and France, doing better in the Netherlands and Spain, and also selling well in Japan and S Korea.

If it had released a couple of years earlier throughout the world, and produced cheaper, it could have been a real contender.
