Atari Lynx

The Atari Lynx library was not huge, somewhere between 71 and 76 titles were released, but it is considered to have a very good ratio of good to bad titles.

All games were made in China, but the boxes were printed in different areas.

Those produced for the American market had the boxes printed in the USA, and had small, glossy paper manuals.

Game boxes produced for Japan were printed there. A total of 17 were fully localised, so boxes and manuals are in Japanese.

After this, the boxes are identical to the American and European ones, except to say where they were printed, and they had Japanese language manuals.

European boxes were printed in Hong Kong, and had A4 posters, with the game box printed on one side, and the instructions on the other.

The Atari Lynx Catalogue is said to have a very impressive collection of arcade conversions, such as Klax, Xenophobe and Rygar, and also some very good original software from Epyx such as California Games, Blue Lightning and Zarlor Mercenary.

Atari of course were to bring some of their most popular titles to the machine, and years after the console had passed from the market, games were still being produced.

The bottom right hand corner of the boxes tells the players how many machines can be linked together for play.
