Bill Gates returns to Microsoft as Technology Adviser

In 2008, Bill Gates left his full-time executive role at Microsoft. 6 years later, Microsoft's new CEO Satya Nadella, asked Bill Gates to increase his time spent at Microsoft, serving as Technology Advisor.

On 4th February, Satya Nadella sent his first company email as CEO, in which he said:

I’ve been fortunate to work closely with both Bill and Steve in my different roles at Microsoft, and as I step in as CEO, I’ve asked Bill to devote additional time to the company, focused on technology and products.
