Mozilla releases Firefox 1.0

Firefox is an open-source web browser developed by Mozilla, a community founded in 1998 by members of Netscape. Version 1.0 of Firefox was released on 9th November 2004.

Firefox was Mozilla's next generation browser, and included features such as tabbed browsing and a pop-up blocker.

Mozilla Firefox became a popular alternative to Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) for users who wanted a faster, more secure web browser. Within 9 months of its launch, Firefox reached 60 million downloads.
