The HP 620LX is a palmtop computer that runs Windows CE 2.0. It has a CompactFlash type 1 card slot, a PC card slot, a serial link cable plug, and an infrared port. (Note this can be upgraded to a 32MB Windows CE 3.0 Computer)

It is internet capable by attaching an add-on modem or through an Ethernet or Wi-Fi card. Only type 1 PC cards are supported, and special drivers for Windows CE are required.

Manufacturer's description at launch:

"The features you have been waiting for are now available - in the HP 620LX. This PDA has an advanced 640 x 240 colour screen with backlighting. The bright 256-color screen also allows you to read your information anywhere - even in the dark. The screen is also wider than other PDA's, eliminating the need to scroll back and forth when you read your documents. With the optional PC Card VGA adapter you can connect your PDA to an external monitor. These features give the 620LX a tremendous advantage. This model features a faster processor with the Hitachi 75Mhz RISC chip, improving the performance of all your applications.The 620LX includes Windows CE Version 2.0 - the new version of the handheld operating system that is fully compatible with Windows 95. It has fully compatible versions of all of your business applications. Pocket versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Internet Explorer are all installed, you can get your work done anywhere. All of your personal information is at your fingertips with the calendar, task list, and a contact database. With the Month-at-a-Glance calendar you can view all your upcoming appointments, as far as six months ahead. You never have to miss another meeting or forget an important birthday or anniversary again. The 620LX can also communicate directly with PC's and printers that have infrared wireless data ports. Simply hold it in front of infrared equipped laser printers and you can print any document. Slide it into the cradle and you can easily synchronize all your PDA with your PC, and update all your files. You have one standard PC Card slot available for an optional modem. You also have one flash card slot available for additional memory."
