Clive Sinclair founds Sinclair Radionics

On the 25th July 1961, Clive Sinclair founded Sinclair Radionics Ltd. The company developed and sold hi-fi amplifiers, calculators and digital watches.

In 1979, as Sinclair Radionics' fortunes were fading, Clive Sinclair resigned. He went on to establish Sinclair Instrument Ltd., which eventually became Sinclair Research Ltd., and produced some of the most innovative and popular computers of the 1980s -- the ZX80, the ZX81, and the ZX Spectrum.
