This pack contains:

  • A computer program tape that displays star maps of the sky
  • A book all about astronomy
  • Full instructions for using the software with your micro

The software shows exactly what you can see in the sky at any time, on any night you choose, and from anywhere in the world. It displays the stars visible to the naked eye and also the planets, Halley's Comet and the moon - impossible on a printed star map or planisphere as these heavenly bodies are constantly moving round the sky. You identify the stars, planets and constellations by moving a 'space probe' across the screen to hit a star - its name then appears on the screen. You can also find out when your chosen stars and planets rise and set, to plan the best times for a night's stargazing.
