An introduction to sprites: A sprite is a multicoloured character which can be printed and moved anywhere on the screen. This particular program allows you to use up to 32 sprites simultaneously, each one can be assigned one of 16 characters. You can also work in any graphics mode, from the super-high resolution of mode 0 to the full 16 colours of mode 2. Each sprite is large - about 100 graphics points square (the BBC screen is 1280 by 1024), but if you want a smaller sprite you simply define the points you want and leave the rest blank, this means your sprite can be any size from one graphic point (or 'pixel') up to 1000 graphic points, or if you group all sixteen characters together, up to 160,000 graphic points!!
