Varietext is a text-reconstruction program which gives the user the opportunity to change certain words and phrases in a text, and examine the stylistic and semantic consequences. Users can then compare their own version with the original text. An authoring program is included which allows teachers to write their own texts and specify alterable words. Varietext can be used with groups of learners, pairs or individuals. This is part of the British Council Software Series.
