Alien Resurrection is a licensed first-person shooter based on the 1997 film of the same name. Like the film, it has a science-fiction setting with an emphasis on horror. The game is notable for its graphics and atmosphere which are regarded as some of the best the Sony Playstation has to offer. Unlike earlier games on the platform, Alien Resurrection featured dual-analogue stick controls which would eventually become the dominant way of controlling a player character in console first-person shooters.
