Computer Basics is the final culmination of a comprehensive course originally prepared for the US Navy at a cost of over $250,000 (quite a sum in the 60s). The course was designed to train naval electronics technicians. Written to be easily understood, and with a special chapter by G Oliver for the English reader, it assumes no prior knowledge of computer systems, though it does require some background in basic electronics theory and a working knowledge of trigonometry and algebra. A real slice of technological history.
