The Commodore 8250LP is a dual-unit 5¼-inch floppy disk drive for the Commodore 80xx-SK series of computers. The “LP” designation stands for “Low Profile,” reflecting its shorter height compared to the standard 8250 model.

Like the 8250, the 8250LP uses both sides of a disk simultaneously and employs a “quad” density format capable of storing approximately 0.5 megabytes per side.

The 8250LP connects via the IEEE-488 interface, common to Commodore PET/CBM computers. Like all Commodore disk drives, the 8250LP is a “smart” device, complete with its own processor, memory, and disk operating system.
