The Acorn Music 500 is a sound and music synthesizer package consisting of hardware and software which will turn your BBC Micro into a sophisticated composition aid and sound effects generator.

The Acorn Music 500 is a computer-based music synthesiser. It was designed, in 1984, by Hybrid Technology for Acorn. The Music 500 connects to the 1MHz bus and is programmed in its own language called AMPLE.

Hybrid Technology went on to design and produce the Hybrid Music System with additional components including:

Music 2000, MIDI interface
Music 3000, extender
Music 4000, 4 octave keyboard
Music 5000, synthesiser

The Music 500 could be upgraded to the Music 5000 with a minor hardware upgrade so that it worked on the Master and upgraded software.

Further information is available at http://chrisacorns.computinghistory.org.uk/8bit_Upgrades/Acorn_ANV02_Music500.html
