Rare MS DOS version of the classic space trading game, ported to the PC by the masters of 3D graphics at the time Realtime Software.
Elite is the classic space trading combat title, and an early example of a sandbox game, in that the player can decide how they want to play it. Some would concentrate on the trading of goods between planets, while others would divert funds to increase the shields and weapons on the craft to take on the Space Pirates for their bounty.
All previous versions of the game used wire graphics to draw the ships, with only the suns a solid object. This is the first version to use solid graphics for the ships, and also included all the craft in th game, most versions had only half the ships on due to memory restraints.
