From the article:

"Shareholders in Acorn Computer have had to decode some pretty strange pieces of information recently; the market's most difficult problem has been to make sense of Acorn's claim to satisfactory sales over Christmas in the light of its move to heavy discounting, and its troubles with distributors. The tumbling share price—from 44p last Thursday towards suspension at 28p—makes it pretty clear how the market has been computing the odds on Acorn's survival—in its present form, at least."
