An Ethernet thin wire transceiver is an electronic device that connects a computer to a 10BASE2 network. 10BASE2 is a variant of Ethernet that uses thin coaxial cable to connect devices. The transceiver takes the signals from the computer and sends them through the cable. A BNC connector links the transceiver to the coaxial cable, and a 15-pin D-sub connector connects to the computer’s network interface card (NIC).
