The Toshiba HX-F101 is a 3.5-inch floppy disk drive and interface unit released by Toshiba in 1985, designed as an external storage option for Toshiba's MSX computers.

The interface is fixed directly to the drive and includes a ROM with version 1 of the Disk BASIC commands.

Four variations of the HX-F101 are known to exist:

  • HX-F101: 2DD 720kB. Ivory colour. Japanese market.
  • HX-F101AA: 1DD 360kB. Black colour. European market.
  • HX-F101PE: 1DD 360kB. Black colour. European market.
  • HX-F101GB: 2DD 720kB. Black colour. UK market.

This model is the HZ-FX101GB, priced at £349.95 on release.
