This was a licensed console, nearly identical in every way to the Sega Saturn, it had the Hitachi branding, and it's own Video CD Card, which could be used in any Japanese machine.

The machine came about due to Hitachi, along with JVC produced parts for the console, and were allowed to produce their own console variants. This model has it's own branded joypad in the newer flatter styling.

Hitachi would also release the Hi Saturn Navi, which was a far more hi end machine, even including GPS technology.
