Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, is born

Apple co-founder Steven Paul Jobs (February 24, 1955 - October 5, 2011) is born.

Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco and adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. He attended Cupertino Middle School and Homestead High School in Cupertino, California and often went to after-school lectures at the Hewlett-Packard Company in Palo Alto.

In 1976 the 21 year old Jobs saw a computer that Steve Wozniak had designed for his own use. He convinced Wozniak to assist him and start a company to market the computer. Apple Computer Co. was founded as a partnership on April 1, 1976.
